i) This is Northern Weyr. It sits on the outskirts of the Northern Mountains and it protects a wide range of Area that covers Northern Hold, Cliffside Hold, and Jassidy Hold. This picture looks in at the Weyr over the bathing lake. The herdbeast pens are on the other side of the rocks directly in front of you, and a natural tunnel (to the left of the farthest lefthand rock) leads to the other side. The hatching sands are set far witin the Weyr (that big dome thing you see in the left/center of the photo is them), and is about a1000m slight slope from the main bowl. The hatching sands were actually built up, to ensure that there could never be a flood. Stairs lead along the edge of the first bowl from the tunnel to the hatching grounds, if anyone finds the walk too difficult. The tunnel also leads to the kitchens, dining hall and lower caverns, all of which is under the area with the buildings. The buildings are one of the entrances to the Wher Quarters, so their beasts can come above ground at night. They can also come through a tunnel that comes out just behind the rock outcropping at the front right of the picture. The whole area is surrounded by mountains, with only one way to get outon foot.
ii) These are some examples of the area surrounding Northern Weyr.
This is the only way out of Northern Weyr on foot. The only other way in is by dragon.
This is an example of the land surrounding the Weyr on the South side with a person for size approximation.
iii) This is where Cliffside Hold is located. The minining crafthall is actually what you can see when you look down into the valley, and the Hold itself is under the pool. It is six levels high, and many people come to the pool to enjoy the view as well as the water, despite it's cold. The crafthall and the Hold are very closely linked, and they have a tunnel under the floor of the valley that helps protect them. The watchdragons live in caves the the left of the picture, in that outcrop of rock.
iv) This is Northern Hold. It is built into the left peak and the Harper Hall's are built into the right peak.
