Queens
- Because of the evolution of the dragons, all of the female's can now clutch and chew firestone. However, because of the copious amounts of dragons that could be running around, clutches will be 10-15 eggs, with the senior queens laying more.
- They are all about the same size. See the size chart for details.
Gold - The original metallic female, some Gold's may hold grudges against the other queens, still thinking themselves better than the rest. Many have adapted well, however, and take it all in stride. They are the natural leaders, and usually impress heterosexual or bisexual girls of the same qualities. They clutch any of the queens, in a fairly even ratio, and will be flown by any of the males, although some of the more traditional Gold may stick with Bronzes. Their hides ranges from a deep heirloom gold to the bright gold of a freshly minted coin.
Emerald - Flirty and dramatic, these queens often have dazzling and flamboyant flights, with a flair for danger. Some have been known to over do it, and end up lost between. They clutch Emeralds and Ruby's more than other females, and will fly any male. They often impress girls or boys of any sexuality that are as flirty as they are, with no need to 'hold back'. They can be any shade of green, from an almost white to the deep jade color that boarders on black.
Ruby- Their personalities take on a wide spectrum, and often they will be the complete opposites of their riders. An active, hyper candidate may be chosen by a laid-back, 'let-it-roll' type, whereas the angry, depressed candidate may be impressed by a very peppy Ruby. The Ruby's clutch more males than females, and if they do clutch a female it is more than likely NOT going to be a Ruby. They impress only heterosexual or bisexual females, and while the other queens go for older candidates, they will often go for younger girls. Their coloring ranges from a deep, deep burgundy to a faded pink. They have no set tone, and the range is quite fantastic. For example, Jasiath is a vibrant blood red, whereas Cattellanth is a dusky pink.
Males
- Because of the evolution of the dragons, all of the male's can fly any queen.
- They are all about the same size. See the size chart for details.
Black - A new color of dragon, the blacks are often very violent. However, with the right rider, this agressiveness can be fine tuned into a protective, undying loyalty that will never be forgotten by the dragon or anyone who meets him. They impress heterosexual boys only, and are not picky about his personality. Anyone who impresses a black often becomes bolder and more outgoing, even if they were the shyest candidate on the sands. All the blacks looks ofr is a good heart, so for a cruel person to impress them is very rare. Their hide color ranges from a metallic jet black, like coal, to a dusty gray. They are rare, but not as rare as their flit cousins.
Bronze - The oringinal metallic male, they can be fairly level-headed, despite their arrogance. Like the Golds, they can be more traditional and refuse to fly Emeralds and Rubies, or just one of the two. However, also like the Golds, they can also be very open minded, and value the opportunities that more clutching females opens up. They impress heterosexual, bisexual or some homosexual boys, or even a bisexual masculine girl. However, the traditional bronzes will usually stick to heterosexual boys. Their hides show little variation, although dark patches are not rare.
Silver - The other new male color, they will rarely impress a girl, although it has been known to happen. Any sexuality of boy is prefered, unless they are all slobs, in which a girl is chosen. Silver's like to be clean, and can be very vain, even more so than a Queen. Their chosen must like cleanliness, and for them to be dirty is a disaster that the silver will tell everyone about. Because of their hides being very metallic and their persistant cleanliness makes them shine, they are a favorite with the females of the Weyr. Their hides range from a dark steel silver, to a bright white sheen.
Copper - The browns of old, this dragons are usually very average. They have the potential to be anything, and so therefore will choose any candidate. Their personalities have no set basics, and are very widespread. Their hides have a coppery shine, and the brown color ranges from a rich earth brown to a light sand tan.
Azurite - The blues of the Old Pern, they much appreciate the opportunity to be the top of the ranks and father their own children. This makes them protective parents, and while other males may leave the clutching to the female, the Azurites will often help guard the clutch and take turns with the female so she can be bathed and fed. They impress all sexualities as well, although motherly or fatherly personalities are prefered in their riders. They also make the best searchriders. their hides range from a sky blue to a deep navy blue, and all the dragons have a distinct metallic sheen.
